Shopify products in ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot: what to set up
Shopify's agentic storefronts send your catalog to ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Meta. They're on by default once you accept Shopify's supplemental terms, and you manage them under Sales channels → Agentic. Each AI channel has its own market rules — most need you to sell to U.S. customers.

OpenAI says Shopify sellers don't need to do anything; Shopify's own pages list the requirements above. Check Sales channels → Agentic in your admin to see your store's status.
What makes a Shopify listing work in AI chat
- Shopify says listing quality depends on descriptions, images, verified reviews, variants and policies.
- Legal disclosures must fall within the first 6,000 characters of the description.
- Stores automatically serve
/agents.mdand/llms.txt. B2B-only products are excluded. - Opting out takes up to 7 days, and AI crawlers can still surface products from your public pages.

Do Shopify products show up in ChatGPT automatically?
OpenAI says Shopify product data reaches ChatGPT through Shopify Catalog with no merchant work, while Shopify's help pages require accepting its terms, completed store policies and selling to U.S. customers.
Can a store outside the US sell in ChatGPT?
Shopify's ChatGPT page says the store can be based anywhere but must sell to U.S. customers. Google AI Mode and Gemini require a U.S.-based store.
